A simple, healthy life is enjoyed as we continue to take steps forward toward your goals, toward making better choices, moving more and taking care of our family and friends, taking care of what you have achieved and accomplished so far in life and appreciating the experiences that have occurred in your life.
Keep the main things the plain things, and the plain things are the main things! Take life one day at a time, one step at a time. Don't rush the journey! Many massage therapists have barriers to overcome when faced with treating the abdomen and anterior pelvis. Some lack palpation skills or have discomfort working on this potentially vulnerable ares. And, of course, there may be apprehension from your clients, as they may not understand the benefits of receiving this type of work. Much of IBS and other abdominal issues are due to poor absorption of vital nutrients. This is what I have found to be an effective treatment plan for my clients when receiving massage and care for abdominal issues. The Super Detox

Beans’ reputation precedes them: They really are a magical, legume. These little superfoods are full of fiber, protein, and magnesium and are also low in cholesterol, making them an exceptional replacement for that sirloin. Beans of all kinds work best in soups, salads, veggie burgers, dips, and (of course) burritos.
Storage: Store dried beans in plastic bags or glass containers in a cool, dry place. It’s best to use dried beans within 12 months, or else they lose moisture and might require longer cooking times. Store canned beans (in original cans) in a cool, dry, dark space for up to a year. Cooked beans can be frozen for up to six months or refrigerated (in a lidded container) for up to five days. Preparation (Dried): Before cooking dried beans, arrange them on a light-colored surface and sort through them, removing any dirt, tiny stones, and damaged or wrinkled beans. Next, it’s time for a rinse: Pour the beans into a large bowl and cover them with water. Before draining off the water, remove any “floaters” (they won’t cook properly). After draining, fill the bowl back up with cold water (at least three times more water than beans). Allow the beans to soak overnight (it’s normal for them to double in size during this time). In the morning, rinse and drain the beans three or four times, or until the water runs clear. Now they’re ready for whatever recipe your gut desires! Preparation (Canned): Though they don’t afford the satisfaction of feeling like a homesteader, canned beans are a super convenient option since they’re pre-soaked and pre-cooked. But that doesn’t mean they don’t require some prep: Drain canned beans and rinse until the water runs clear before using them in recipes. Go-to Recipes: Vegetarian Black Bean Chili, Cauliflower, Fennel, and White Bean Winter Salad, Lima Bean Mash with Lemon and Olive Oil, Strawberry White Bean Blondies (look these up on the internet) Re-Boot your tastes buds.
Also a method of rebooting your brain. Retrain your body to crave healthy, whole foods. The goal here is to retrain your taste buds while simultaneously losing fat and building momentum. Willpower will only get you through something difficult for about 14 days. That’s what this Re-Boot will do. But it’s a great way to jump in and accelerate your results. It may seem a little challenging, however, it’s only 14 days. The more disciplined you are, the easier everything will be afterwards. The rules are simple: -No bread, grains, potatoes, beans. (No white carbs.) -No fruit. -Don’t eat sugar. This will rewire your taste buds to only crave healthy foods. Stay away from desserts and sweets. -Consume as many veggies as possible. -No beer for 14 days. -Eliminate wheat completely. -Eliminate dairy, except for cheese. -Stay away from foods like chips and cookies that you'll eat a ton of in quick succession. Your primary foods during this time will be meat (clean, grass fed, free range), egg, nuts, and vegetables. Do your best to only eat natural, unprocessed foods. This will help teach your body that overwhelmingly processed foods actually taste bad once you give them up for a little bit. To your health, Sabrina Finding balance in your life can sometimes feel so overwhelming. We dream of a healthy body, a beautiful family, eight hours of sleep, bubble baths, yoga classes, golfing five days a week, extended vacations and endless financial and material wealth, then abruptly awake to our real lives of too much work, not enough play and potato chips for dinner. Where does one start to connect the dream with the reality? How does one move from their current state of being to a more desirable state of being?
When it comes to finding more balance in your life, the start line is your own health. Why? Because by learning and living some very basic rules about how to take care of your body and mind, you give yourself the strength, energy, clarity and confidence to tackle the harder stuff. Your health is your foundation. A foundation is a support structure making whatever is then built on top of it stronger and more likely to last for a long period of time. A healthy foundation is the only foundation that can support a life of balance. Here are five easy ways to strengthen your foundation thus giving you the strength, energy, clarity and confidence to start making other changes in your life. 1. Drink water. Water hydrates and cleans your body. Water boosts your brainpower by injecting it with some much-needed oxygen. Water wakes you up and keeps you energized. Stressful mind clutter can be easily cleared out with a tall glass of water, allowing for a moment of mindful connectedness to peace. 2. Eat whole foods. Whole foods provide your body with the most nutrients, vitamins and healthy proteins/carbs/fats. The more you feed your body good food, the more resilient and confident you become. The more resilient and confident you are, the more you are able to draw boundaries, declare your worth in terms of output (not measured input), and prioritize commitments over obligations. 3. Breathe. Not the short constant breaths that your body does automatically, but deep breathing, from your belly, through your body to your brain, and with an exhale like you mean it. Breathing not only brings clarity to your mind (anytime oxygen hits your brain en masse, good things happen), but it also brings relaxation to your body. Our bodies, in a state of relaxation, begin to remember what it feels like to feel good, and feeling good is what life in balance is all about. 4. Move your body. Exercise, walk, dance, swim, golf — just get off the sofa and move! Besides increasing your creativity and clarity (yes, oxygen to the brain again!), movement creates a sense of euphoria. The happier you feel, the more desire you have to move forward in the direction of your dreams. Sitting = stagnation. Moving = attaining. 5. Relax. Find time and activities in your day that make you feel relaxed and happy. Sleep, reading, TV with your partner, bedtime reading to your kids. Too much Stress can kill you, so you need to find ways to relax. Yes, you do have time, and the more you take that time, the more balance enters your life. How you do one thing is how you do everything. Making healthy choices for your own body and mind will lead to making healthy choices for your life. Taking it one step and one day at a time! Sabrina Spring is the season of activity and opportunity! Choose the good in life and choose the opportunity in all areas and in all things in our lives!
